Calangute Beach, Goa
Calangute is a beach that is approximately 16 kms from Panjim, North Goa. The majority basic attraction is Baga Beach. The greatest time to visit this place is from December to February.
Calangute derives its name from the local vernacular word—‘Koli-gutti’, meaning ground of fishermen. It is the majority popular public holiday resort in Goa usually recognized as the queen of Goan beaches. The rainbow hued canvas of Calangute has welcomed all and Sunday. Seemingly not all that long ago, Calangute was the beach every one nature regarding hippies headed for, particularly about Christmas at what time psychedelic hell broke loose.
There are barely some palms, the sand is impure with red soil and the beach drops quickly into the sea. But wait, there’s more… On the shores of the Arabian Sea, below the shade of palm trees, bathes the Queen of Beaches Calangute. A number of call it Kalyangutti (village of art) or Konvallo-ghott (strong pit of the coconut tree) because the village is full of coconut trees. There are picturesque agors (saltpans) at Agarvaddo, and Maddavaddo is full of madd (coconut trees). While Dongorpur skirts a bottle-green hillock, Tivaivaddo laces the beach. In Gauravaddo lived the gaudds or milkmen ran dairies. Calangute's heyday as the Mecca of every one expatriate hippie has passed. It has undergone a metamorphosis to become the centre of Goa's rapidly expanding package-tourist market. While it isn't one of the most excellent Goanese beaches, there is however, plenty leaving on, particularly if you don't mind playing a small role in this control parody of what travelling is meant to be about.

Calangute is one of the most excellent beaches in Goa. It takes just 45 minutes by road to reach to this busy beach and its resorts. Things have become very commercial at this position as of now. There is a drastic alter in the outlook of this position which was once extra of a fishing village. But today this position has changed itself to one of the top tourist spots at what time it comes to beaches.
There are more shops as well as stalls where one can see excellent quality Indian Handicraft Items. There is more scope for the visitors who come above here to end and shop a variety of items mainly those from Kashmir, Kerala, Rajasthan, Gujrat etc... Etc....
Over this entire beach is the right place to use a holiday. There are places where one can see large crowd and too there are places which are extra cool and silent. Fishing is still prevalent in areas which are a bit far left form the importance beach front.
